Bay Area legal exam results released

The Department of Justice today said the GBA Legal Professional Examination’s results and pass mark have been announced. The pass mark is 120.   The inaugural GBA Legal Professional Examination was held on July 31. From noon today, candidates may check their results and download and print out the results notices through the Ministry of Justice’s website. If they have any doubts about the results, they may submit written applications to the Guangdong Department of Justice before October 10 for rechecking.   Secretary for Justice Teresa Cheng said: “More lawyers familiar with the laws of the Mainland and Hong Kong will be available for the entire Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area given the smooth running of the examination, thereby further enhancing implementation of the supporting measures introduced for the Hong Kong legal profession by the central government.   “With the announcement of the examination results, the Department of Justice will actively co-operate with the ministry and the Guangdong Department of Justice in implementing the relevant practice management measures.”   She thanked the ministry for conducting the exam and setting up an extra exam venue in Hong Kong for local legal practitioners.   The justice chief also congratulated those who passed the exam, noting that their hard work had paid off.   “I wish they would join hands with their Mainland counterparts to provide Bay Area enterprises with both Hong Kong and Mainland legal services and safeguards, leading to a win-win situation,” Ms Cheng added.
